| A memorial Mass will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Tigard for Mary Lee Young, who died Sept. 29 of leukemia at age 78. Mrs. Young was born May 26, 1922, in Chadwick, Mo. Her maiden name was Dishman. She moved to Boise in 1937 and attended high school there. She was national advertising manager for the Lewiston (Idaho) Morning Tribune for about 10 years. She was executive assistant for Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory, with assignments in Alaska, American Samoa, Guam and Portland, until retiring. She was a member of the church. In 1943, she married Harry James Allen; they divorced, and he died. In 1957, she married Bob Young; they divorced. |
| Survivors include her brother, Dean Dishman; and sisters, Ann Sharp and Christina Sproat. Her son Timothy P. Allen died in 1949, and her son Harry J. Allen Jr. died in 1991. |
| Disposition is by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to the Harry J. Allen Memorial Scholarship Fund, University of Oregon, P.O. Box 3346, Eugene, OR 97403-0346. Arrangements are by Young's Funeral Home. |
