Sally Louise West

Sally Louise West, born January 14, 1930, in Brawley,
California, passed away on July 16, 2006, in Kirkland,
Washington. A longtime Bothell resident, she graduated
from Roosevelt High School, Seattle in 1947.
Sally had a magnetic personality and a great sense of
humor. Sally was a truly kind person who cared about
people and was always eager to help those in need. She
enjoyed being with family and friends, reading,
gardening, bird watching and rescuing forgotten pets.
Sally was devoted to her family, and was especially
close to her mother, Rose. The two of them looked
forward to their annual van trips to Reno and their
visits with Uncle Ed and Betty in California.
Sally is survived by her children, Kathleen West-Evans
(John) of Bothell, Matthew West, of Everett, Patricia
West (Amanda) of Seattle, Sandra Portulano, of
Bothell; cousin and childhood friend, Janice Hargett,
of Everett; her cherished grandchildren, Amanda,
Alison, Rachael, and Andrew; and numerous Carter and
West family members.
Sally was preceded in death by her devoted husband,
Herbert C. West; and her parents, Lynn and Rose
Carter.
Though they miss her greatly, Sally's children are
very proud of their mother and are grateful to have
had such loving and wonderful parents. They know that
their mom and dad are together again.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of
Sally's life at 1:00 p.m., July 29, at the family's
home.
Memorials in her name may be made to Homeward Pet
