A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2003, in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox
Church in Portland for Eileen Tsohonis, who died April 7 at age 77. A trisagion service
will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 10, in Caldwell's Colonial Chapel.
Eileen Kanelis was born Aug. 29, 1925, in New Kensington, Pa., and moved to
Portland in 1937. She graduated from Clinton Kelly High School of Commerce and
was a loan officer for First National Bank for 25 years and then a clerk for Rentrak
and a sales clerk for Lloyd Center See's Candy. In 1968, she married Sam; he died in
1986.
Survivors include her stepdaughters, JoAnn Tsohonis and Kathleen Sparling;
stepson, Tom Tsohonis; sisters, Alice Holbrook, Elizabeth Kanelis and Sophia
Runyard; brother, Constantino Kanelis; three grandchildren; and three great-
grandchildren.
