Kay B. Simmons
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan.
26, 2006, in the chapel of the St. Johns Ward of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for Kay B.
Simmons, who died Jan. 23 of cancer at age 68.
Kay Brown was born July 28, 1937, in San Bernardino,
Calif. She graduated from Brigham Young University and
moved in 1977 to Portland, where she received a
master's degree from the University of Portland. She
was an elementary teacher for Portland Public Schools
for 19 years, primarily in Sitton Elementary School.
In 1959, she married Larry D.
Survivors include her husband; son, Kevin; daughter,
Kerin; sisters, Betty Greene, JoAnne Stewart and
Virginia Roe; brothers, Don Brown, Bill Brown and
David Brown; and six grandchildren.
