Adelaide H. “Addie” Stanich

Addie was born December 23, 1906, the first of four children to George and
Agnes Hubmann in St. Louis, MO. She graduated from Holy Rosary in 1920
and graduated from Aquinas Academy in 1924. Addie married Antone J.
Stanich in 1927. She volunteered playing the organ at St. Nicholas Catholic
Church for the first 30 years that they had an organ. She had been a member of
St. Nicholas Church for 76 years, a member of the Women’s Club from its
inception, and had worked on many church dinners. In her early married life
she enjoyed playing Bridge and figure skating. In mid-life she was active in
folk and square dancing and in later years, loved traveling and playing Bingo.
She had worked in the family grocery store and later in their liquor store.
Addie is survived by her daughter Irene Stanich; sisters Agnes “Lee” Kram,
Sister Lucille Hubmann, O.S.B.; brother George Hubmann; nieces Jane
Dempsey, Mary (Jon) Lacey, Mary Ann Spenser; nephews Antone (Evie)
Katich, George E. (Carolyn) Hubmann; 11 great nieces and nephews, 9 great
great nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 15,
2003, 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Rosary will be
recited Monday, April 14, 2003, 7:00 p.m. at the 1002 South Yakima Avenue
Chapel. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send a
