Esther Lou Smith
A funeral will be at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, in Scholls Community Church in Hillsboro for Esther Lou Smith, who died Oct. 12 at age 64.
Esther Lou Beckham was born Aug. 14, 1938, in Mountain Grove, Mo., and was raised in Clatskanie. She graduated from the University of Oregon and moved in 1960 to Beaverton, where she taught elementary school music for 30 years, retiring after 15 years at Aloha Park Elementary. In 1965, she married Harris "Dean."
Survivors include her husband; daughters, Kyra Timian, Dana Kalac and Vawn McCollum; sisters, Marilyn Beckham and Sue Funkhouser; brother, Garve A. Beckham; and two grandchildren.
