| Lillian Martina Shotwell Lillian Martina Shotwell, 89, died in Tacoma, May 8, 1999 after a recent stroke. She was born Lillian Boyd in Los Angeles, CA in 1909. Her family later moved to Puyallup where she graduated from high school. She graduated from UPS in 1931. Lillian was active in her community. She was a trustee of the UPS Board of trustees. She served as queen, Daughters of the Nile, and as President of the Tacoma Yacht Club Shipmates, of Tacoma Day Nursery, of Robert Reynolds Orthopedic Guild, and of UPS Women's College League. Lillian was also active in the Mason United Methodist Church. The Lillian Shotwell Orthopedic Guild was established in her honor in 1962. Lillian was preceded in death by J. Donald Shotwell, her husband of 62 years, and her son Donald Robert Shotwell. She is survived by daughter Beverly Randall of Tacoma and Claire Egge and husband Don of Gig Harbor; son Jonathon Shotwell of Port Angeles; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Monday May 10, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at Mason United Methodist Church, 2710 North Madison St., 272-2131. The family requests in lieu of flowers and if desired, contributions may be made to The Donald Robert Shotwell Trust Fund at UPS, The Lillian Shotwell Orthopedic Guild, or Mason United Church, or to a favorite charity.
