Erma Lois Scripter 

Erma Lois Scripter died May 4, 2001, at age 89. Mrs. Scripter was born 
Erma Lois Beach on Oct. 18, 1911, in Pottawatomie County, Kan. She 
taught in a one-room schoolhouse in Kansas until becoming a 
homemaker. She lived in Arkansas and Washington before moving to Lake 
Oswego, where she worked with her husband, who owned and managed a 
service station. She moved to Portland in 1999. In 1933, she married 
Charles Eldon Scripter; he died in 1989. 

Survivors include her sons, Sam and Don; daughter, Laurel A. Strieby; 
sisters, Helen Pagel and Rosalie Simpson; brother, Ralph Beach; seven 
grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. 

Private service held. Arrangements by Gable & Parkrose.
