Hermina Maria Glatz Strickland

Passed away on November 3, 2007 peacefully at home.
Born September 3, 1906 to Austrian/Hungarian
immigrants Alois Glatz and Maria Lussier Glatz in
Corapolis, Pennsylvania. Graduated high school in
Marysville, Washington; attended Western Washington
Normal School studying to be a home economics teacher.
Beloved and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who
always put the needs of her family before her own. She
loved children and helped in her younger years to
assist the Day Island Orthopedic Guild, the March of
Dimes, and other organizations serving children.
Preceded in death by her husband, John R. Strickland
in 1978 after 50 years of marriage. She leaves behind
daughters Sharon Kennedy (William), University Place
and Susan Manthou (Chris) Lacey, and grandsons, Chad
Davidson, New York, and Mathew Manthou, Tacoma.
Sincerest thanks to the various caregivers that took
loving care of her for the last eleven years and to
Hospice Staff for their dedicated loving care.
Graveside services will be held at New Tacoma Cemetery
on Saturday, 1PM. Arrangements by
