Clair Franklin Strope
Clair Franklin Strope died Feb. 2, 2007, at age 85.
Mr. Strope was born March 12, 1921, in Chandler, Ariz., and was raised in Redondo Beach, Calif. He served in the Navy during World War II and moved to Gaston in 1948. He was a painter for Forest Fiber in Forest Grove. In 1943, he married LaVerta M. Todd; she died in 2004.
Survivors include his son, Paul F.; daughters, Lee A. Bigsby and Lynn M. Acker; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
