Vernece E. Crandell Rooks
A service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2005, in Willamette National Cemetery for Vernece E. Crandell Rooks, who died Sept. 13 at age 83.
Vernece E. Persyn was born March 23, 1922, in Snyder, Mo., and moved to Gladstone in 1935. She held several different jobs, most recently as a cook for the snack bar at Ben Franklin store in Oregon City. She moved to Milwaukie in May. In 1943, she married William Crandell; he died in 1969. She married Clifford Rooks in about 1970; he died in 1982.
Survivors include her sons, Melvin Crandell and William Crandell; daughter, Deborah Crandell; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
