A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, in the chapel of Mt. St.
Joseph Care Center for James William Roady and Rachel Alice Roady. Mr. Roady died
Dec. 26, 2003, at age 89; Mrs. Roady died Jan. 4, 2004, at age 91.
Mr. Roady was born June 28, 1914, in St. Louis. During World War II, he served in the
Army in Europe and the South Pacific. He was a postal clerk and lived in St. Louis,
moving in 1972 to Eugene and in 2001 to Portland.
Mrs. Roady was born May 9, 1912, in St. Louis. Her maiden name was Biswell. A
homemaker, she was raised in St. Louis and lived in Eugene from 1972 to 2001, when
she moved to Portland. She married Richard E. Edwards in about 1930; he died in
1955. In 1967, she married James Roady.
Mr. Roady is survived by his son, Raymond; nine grandchildren; and 15
great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Roady is also survived by her son, Richard R. Edwards; and daughters, Betsy
Steffensen and Virginia "Ginger" Edwards.
