Helen M. Reed
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, in Finley's Sunset Hills Mortuary for Helen M. Reed, who died Oct. 11 at age 79. Mrs. Reed was born Helen M. Crabtree on Jan. 9, 1922, in Manes, Mo. She moved to Portland during World War II and was a welder in the shipyards. She was a homemaker and also did electrical work for Reed Electric and another company, winding transformers and motors. She lived in Florence for about 20 years until returning to Portland. In the 1940s, she married Ralph Reed; he died 1998.
Survivors include her sister, Mildred Halm; and nephews, Joseph M. DeJager and Lane Cunningham.
Interment in Sunset Hills Memorial Park.
