Heldur Podersoo Died Saturday evening, July 28, at the age of 85. He was born in Tartu, Estonia in April of 1922. Mr. Podersoo immigrated to the United States following WWII. He made his home in Tacoma, where he worked for Atlas Foundry for 34 years, retiring in 1985. He was a talented cook, gardener, artist, cabinetmaker, woodworker, leather worker, and silversmith. His passions were his roses and his work in reproducing and designing Estonian folk jewelry. He was a lifelong member of the Estonian Boy Scouts. His smile and many kindnesses will be missed, yet will live on in all the people whose lives he touched. He was preceded in death by his wife Hilda and his parents. He is survived by numerous relatives in Estonia. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 11am at Fir Lane Memorial Park, Spanaway. In lieu of flowers contribution may be made to the Evergreen Chapter of the ALS Society.
