PODLAS, Frank Jr. (Age 78) A lifelong resident of Elk, Washington, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2007. He is the dear husband of Joyce M. Podlas and the loving father of Rick (Melody) Podlas of Mead, WA. He enjoyed one granddaughter, Angelina; his sister, Betty Hays, resides in Elk. Born in 1929 in Elk, Frank attended school there, and was a lifelong dairy and beef rancher. He and Joyce were married in 1951. Frank's memberships were in the Fertile Valley Grange and was a volunteer fireman and former fire chief with the Elk Community Fire Department for over thirty-one years. While operating their dairy, Frank and Joyce received many awards for being a Grade-A Dairy. His love was with hunting, fishing, a large garden, and caring for his land, cattle, and farm. Funeral Services for Mr. Podlas will be at 11:00 AM Friday, June 29, 2007 at the Country Church of the Open Bible directed by the LAUER FUNERAL HOME in DEER PARK, WA with Pastor Bob Smith officiating.
