Frank #Fritz# Podolak, 87, died January 11, 2006 at his Enumclaw home, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born July 30, 1918 to John and Mary Podolak in Plumcreek, Nebraska. He married Monica Wald on May 23, 1949 in Oakes, North Dakota. They resided there until moving to Enumclaw in 1955. Mr. Podolak was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Enumclaw VFW, Post 1949 and the Buckley Eagles. He served in the US Army during WWII and received the Purple Heart. He was employed by Weyerhaeuser and retired in 1983. He enjoyed bowling, sports and fishing, but most important to him was his family and spending time at the family lake cabin. He was the loving husband of Monica for 56 years; father of Darryl of Milton, Wayne and his wife Colette of Gilbert, AZ, Richard and his wife Sharon of Enumclaw, Tim and his wife Jodie of Enumclaw; grandfather of 9 and great grandfather of 2. A Rosary will be held Sunday, January 15, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. with the Funeral Mass Monday, January 16, 2006 at 10:30 a.m., both at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Enumclaw, Washington. The burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park.
