Katherine Phillips
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005, in Portland Memorial Funeral Home for Katherine Phillips, who died Sept. 26 at age 97. Katherine Maershbecker was born Sept. 13, 1908, in Reading, Pa. She moved to the Milwaukie area in 1954 and was a seamstress for Pendleton Woolen Mills, as well as an instructor for Portland Community College. In 1926, she married John; he died in 1987.
Survivors include her son, Larry; daughter, Dorothy Monismith; brother, Nick Maershbecker; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
