R. Scott PUDDY 11/28/1956 -- 6/18/2002 General Aviation Loses a Best Friend Scott perished doing what he loved: flying and challenging new skills in an Aerobatic YAK 52, in the mountains of Brentwood, CA. Scott graduated from Queen Anne High School in Seattle, WA., where he excelled in sports and academics. He graduated SummaCumLaude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Yale University in 1978, earning a Distinction in History. He completed his law studies at Stanford University in 1981, and has been practicing law in the San Francisco area since that time. In recent years he has pursued a second career in aviation; rated ATP, CFI, CFI-I and MEI. His articles emphasizing safety and competence have been published by AVweb and IFR. He was a flight instructor, single and multi-engine, at Attitude Aviation in Livermore, CA. Family planes have been based at Concord, CA. and Boeing Field, Seattle, where he has been closely associated with his father in flying adventures. Scott has membership in NTSB Bar Association, AOPA, NAFI, and EAA. Family members include: his daughter, Stephanie Frances Puddy of Sioux City, Iowa, Parents LaVern and Frances M. Puddy of Seattle; sisters Lisa (& Matt Montague), Linda (& Eric Siggens), Paige, and 6 nieces and nephews. A Memorial Gathering will be at his home in Pleasant Hill, CA., on Saturday afternoon, June 22. Graveside Services will be at 2 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle, the following Saturday, June 29, 2002. Jun 26, 2002 Seattle Times
