Bette Lou Poe Age 76, of Palm Springs, CA, passed away from this life to be with her lord on Friday, February 21, 2003, of cancer, at home. She was born May 5, 1926, to Evelyn Nord and Richard C. Nord in Wolverton, MN. She married Donald E. Poe, of Puyallup, WA in 1946. They had 5 children and they made their home there until retirement. She and Donald became #snowbirds# to the Desert Hot Springs area in Almar Acres. They had recently moved to Palm Springs. She is survived by her husband, Donald; a daughter, Pamela Kepler of Rapid City, SD; 4 sons: Michael (Cristina) of Santiago, Chile; Patrick (Clara) of Puyallup, WA; Richard of Palm Springs, CA and Brad (Miriam) of Puyallup, WA; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grand-children, two brothers, Marlyn of Rancho Murietta, CA and Richard of Wolverton,, MN; 2 sisters, Lois Mashek of Mesa, AZ and Connie Jacobson of Omaha, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Marjorie Ann, and a granddaughter, Clara. A #Celebration of Life# service will be held March 3, 2003, at 2 pm, at Grace Church, Bubbling Wells Rd., Desert Hot Springs, CA. The family wishes to express their thanks to the doctors, health care professionals and the workers of Hospice of the Desert Communities for their selfless care during Mom#s illness. In lieu of flowers, at Bette#s request, donations may be made in her memory to: Hospice of the Desert Communities, or a charity of your choice.
