Frances Jean Podhora A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2001, in Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home for Frances Jean Podhora, who died May 7 at age 80. Mrs. Podhora was born Frances Pozin on Oct. 30, 1920, in Kansas City, Mo. She graduated from Research Hospital School of Nursing and was a U.S. Navy nurse during World War II. In 1948, she moved to Portland. She was a self-employed registered nurse-anesthetist for about 10 years and a nurse-anesthetist for Kaiser Permanente for about 18 years, retiring in 1982. She was a charter member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association and president of the Oregon Association of Nurse Anesthetists. In 1943, she married Fredric Podhora; he died in 1981. Survivors include her son, Fredric W. Jr.; daughters, Christine L. Gass and Rebecca A. Podhora; brothers, John Pozin, Frank Pozin, Richard Pozin and David Pozin; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Her son Paul A. died in 1998. Interment in Willamette National Cemetery.
