Robert "Bob" Lee POARCH, U.S. Navy, Ret. Born August 19, 1926 in Griffin, Georgia to Grady and Jessie Poarch, went to be with his Lord April 11, 2000 in Bothell, WA. Bob is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ivis M. Poarch, sons: Ronald A. Braxton; Richard Braxton, III; Jerry A. and his wife Vivian Braxton; Robert A. Braxton; daughters: Cheryl Y. Braxton; Florence A. Braxton; Judith A. Braxton, and many loving relatives. Bob first joined the US Navy in 1943 and retired with honors in 1969. Bob did not stay retired, and began his second career working for the U.S. Customs office at Sea-Tac for nearly 14 years. He completed his working life with the U.S. Forest Service, Dept. of Agriculture. Bob was also a member of the Mountlake Terrace Lion's Club, where he was active with the "Tail-Twister" Committee. An Inurnment ceremony with Military Honors will begin 10 a.m. Friday April 21, 2000 at the Washelli Columbarium , 11111 Aurora Ave. N, Seattle. Memorial services to celebrate Bob's life will begin Saturday 1 p.m. April 22, 2000 at North Seattle Christian Fellowship , 12345 - 8th Ave. N.E., Seattle, WA. 98125.
