Ernest A. Nemeth
Ernest Alexander Nemeth, age 80, a long time Tacoma resident passed away Friday,
October 17,1997 at the Franke Tobey Jones Health Care Center. Mr. Nemeth was
born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on March 8, 1917. He entered the U.S. Army in 1941
serving in World War II and later the Korean War where he was awarded a battle-field
commission. Through his career he received numerous medals and citations, including
the Purple Heart and Bronze Star and attained the rank of Captain before retiring in
1961. He was an avid sports fan, bowler, and a member of the Tacoma Elks Lodge.
He enjoyed traveling with his wife Lelia Nemeth. Mrs. Nemeth passed away in May of
this year. Of seven children, Ernest is survived only by his brother Edward of
Williamsport, Pennsylvania. His sister-in-law and brother-in-law Rebecca and Morris
Kurth of Dayton, WA; two nephews, Marc Kurth of Olympia and Lynn Kurth of Kent.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held
Monday, October 17, 1997, 1:00 p.m. at the Mountain View Garden Chapel.
