| James S. Moore James S. Moore, of Tacoma, WA, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006 in Park Rose Nursing Care Home. He was born June 7th, 1916 in Houtzdale, PA, a son of John V. and Isabel Goss Moore. James was a retired painting contractor, having lived in Tacoma since World War II. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a 1st Lt., piloting B-24 Liberator bombers in the South Pacific Theater, credited with in excess of 60 missions. For his exceptional meritorious achievements, James was awarded the Air Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Distinguished Flying Cross. James was an avid hunter and fisherman. His Brittany Spaniels shared his passion for hunting. As a member of the Evergreen Sports Club, Olympia, WA, he was senior state trap shoot champion two years in a row. He is survived by a sister, Beth Ann Moore Klar, and husband Robert, of Indiana, PA, nephew Dr. Jon R. Woods of Columbus, OH, sister-in-law Alice Moore, her daughter Mitzi and son Jack, of Tacoma, and guardian and true friend Michael Montgomery of Tacoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John and Richard, sister Marjorie Woods, and nephew John Klar. Friends will be received Tuesday, July 25th, 2006 at 10:00 AM, with memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM at Haven of Rest Funeral Home, Gig Harbor.
