Ross Bryon MANLEY

Age 85, died peacefully on June 14, 2004 at Queen Anne
Healthcare. Born in Harrisburg, PA, he was the son of
the late Mr. & Mrs. Harry L. Manley and brother of the
late Ruth C. Manley. He is survived by his loving wife
of 57 years, Beulah (Bea) Livingston Chisolm Manley;
his cousin, Richard Manley and his wife, Shirley of
Harrisburg; his nieces, Victoria Gunn of Cape Cod, MA
and Anne-Marie Crance and her husband, Ralph, of Bucks
County, PA; and several great and great-great nieces
and nephews. Ross served as a captain in World War II
with the 39th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division
in North Africa, Sicily and Normandy and was wounded
in Orglandes, France. He earned the Silver Star with
Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart, French Croix de
Guerre, Distinguished Unit Citation, Combat Infantry
Badge, and the European-African-Middle Eastern Service
Medal with four Battle Stars. He was graduated with a
degree in Liberal Arts from Pennsylvania State
University and received a Masters Degree in Government
from the University of Denver. After working in
research with the Rockefeller Foundation, he was
employed by the United States Department of Commerce
as Chief of Public Works both in Huntingdon, W.VA and
Seattle. Ross retired from the department in 1982.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a
celebration of his life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday,
June 19th at The Episcopal Church of the Ascension,
2330 Viewmont Way West, Magnolia, Seattle, WA, 98199.
