Nancy Podas Medin Nancy Podas Medin died May 14, 2006. She was born October 17, 1914, and the Podas family moved to Edmonds, Washington in 1921, where she lived most of her life. A 1937 graduate of the U. of W. and member of Alpha Chi Omega, Nancy worked in banking and retired from Rainier Bank (formerly Edmonds National Bank of Commerce). She was foremost a homemaker and mom. Friends of all ages and family were always welcome in the Medin home. Nancy was one of the founding members of St. Alban's Episcopal Church, where she was treasurer for many years. She also volunteered at Stevens Hospital for more than 6400 hours and was an active member of Simeon Cantrell Hospital Guild. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Medin; and sisters, Marylu Dent and Patricia Covell. Nancy is survived by her children, Michael (Mary) Medin, OD and Katherine "Kitty" (John) Walker; grandchildren, Andrea Kulp, Erik Medin, Nancy Swoboda, Adam Walker, and Christina Walker; and great-grandsons, Luke Kane and Keir Medin. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., on Sunday, June 4, at Restlawn Memorial Park, 23800 - 104th Avenue W., Edmonds, and a celebration of her life will follow at 3 p.m. at Nancy's home.
