| Donald "DING" H. MARTIN 83 of Woodinville, died Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at his home. He was born June 15, 1922 in Miles City, Missouri. He was a resident of the Eastside for 37 years. Ding enlisted in the Navy in 1940, serving until 1961 as a Master Chief (ADCM-E9) and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He worked at Boeing as an engineer, retiring in 1985. Ding enjoyed being with family and grandchildren, playing the piano and working crossword puzzles. He enjoyed watching Mariners, Sonics & Seahawks. They won the Washington State Lotto in 1985. A loving, caring husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather, he is survived by son & daughter-in-law Don & Alice Martin, Jr of Sunnyvale, CA; grandchildren Ryan Martin, Michelle Martin, Dean Riano & Kelly Evans; great-grandchild Kathleen Pope and a brother Frank Martin of Yuba City, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife Doratha Marie Martin in 2000 and a daughter Glenda Marie Evans in 1998. Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Hills Funeral Home, Bellevue Washington. Visitation will be Saturday Oct. 15. from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to noon. Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Society. Published in print on 10/14/2005.
