John McArdle

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2004, in Hoodland Lutheran Church in Welches for John McArdle, who died March 4 at age 83. Mr. McArdle was born Oct. 20, 1920, in Philadelphia. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in Europe and later in the Air Force. He moved to Portland in the early 1950s. After 20 years in the military, he was a fire and rescue worker for the Port of Portland at the airport. In 1955, he married Mabel Baars.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Lori Gilbert; son, Phil; and one grandchild.
