Martha Bamford Madaris Martha Bamford Madaris died May 7, 2005, at age 89. Martha Divens was born June 27, 1915, in Knobsville, Pa. She lived in Spokane before moving to Portland in 1955. She was an office manager for the IRS. Her husband, William Bamford, died in 1961. She later married John W. Madaris.
