George Andrew Manoske
George Andrew Manoske, 84, passed away peacefully at his home in Monroe, WA on
December 21, 2003.
He was born on November 28, 1919 in Glennonville, MO. George lived in Monroe most
of his life after moving here in 1935 with his parents. He served in the U.S. Navy as a
Boatswains Mate and Diver during WWII. After marrying his wife Helen they moved to
Anchorage, AK for eight years where he served on the Anchorage Police Department
as a Sergeant. He moved back to Monroe where he worked for the Washington State
Reformatory and then became a member of the Carpenters Union. He worked the rest
of his career as a construction Superintendent on many projects both public and
private.
George will be remembered for his generosity, hospitality, and love of his family. He
enjoyed being outdoors on warm summer evenings sitting in his favorite chair
exchanging stories and spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Helen; and children, Patricia
Leland, Dan Manoske, Ronald Manoske, Ron and Teresa Carey, James Manoske,
and David and Heather Manoske. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Thomas
and Renee Leland, Jeff and Kari McMahon, Taya Carey, Loni Carey, Jenna Carey; and
six great grandchildren, Chelsea, Riley, Reese, Derek, Austen, and Terner.
Funeral Services will be held at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Monroe, WA on
January 3, 2004 at 1:00pm.
