George MINNICK

A great thing happened on July 9, 1926, husband, father, brother and
friend, George Minnick was born. Age 78, of Edmonds passed away April 14,
2005. Was born in Clearfield, PA. to Guy and Charlotte Minnick. Married
Jane Belle Green in Seattle July 5, 1951. Survived by wife, Jane; sons
David (Jenny), Dale, Drew (Robin), Darrel, and Dan (Kim). Grandson's
Joshua, Beau, Adam, Devvon, and finally a GIRL, Great Granddaughter
Vanessa. Sister Peggy (Richard); brothers William (Pat) and Dan (Linda),
Brother-in-Law David (Song). During WWII he was in the U.S. Navy and
served in the South Pacific. After the war he joined the U.S. Air Force and
retired in 1964 after twenty years military service. He then went to
work for the U.S. Post Office. After working nearly twenty years he
retired with nearly 40 years government service. After his retirement from
the Post Office, he devoted much of his time to the Masonic
Organization. He was raised a Master Mason in Tokyo Masonic Lodge #125 in 1954
while stationed in Tokyo. He was a life member there and became a Life
Member of Edmonds Lodge #165 when he settled in Edmonds, Washington after
retirement. In 1979 he joined Scottish Rite and the Nile Shrine. During
his years as a Shriner he served as Assistant Director of the Circus;
was the Editor of the Smile With Nile, served as the Director of Uniform
Units; was Captain of Nile Patrol and was a Member of the Legion of
Honor and served as the Chief Aide for the Potentate. He also volunteered
in the Nile Shrine Hospital support office and at Pacific Medical
Center. He was very active in his Blue Lodge and was the Master in 1999. He
was much loved and will be missed by his family and is a credit to his
country and community. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on
4/22 at The Nile Shrine Country Club, 6601 244th St. SW, Mountlake
Terrace, WA in the main ballroom. Reception to follow.Memorials to Nile Dad#s
