| Nelson Henry McNEAL Born 1/29/1924, Kansas, MO. Passed away peacefully at home in Kent on March 29, 2002. Retired from the Boeing Company in 1993, after 36 years of service. As one of the Boeing Company's first African-American employees, Nelson continually strived for excellence - a true trailblazer. He received numerous awards; his 1979 Employee of the Year Award included a trip for two to Hawaii. Nelson was a dedicated four-day-a-week volunteer at the Southeast Senior Center in the Rainier Valley for most of his retirement years. We will always remember his example of fierce independence and honesty. Preceded in death by brothers Richard McNeal, Stockton, CA. and James McNeal, Berkeley, CA. Survivors include a brother Bernard McNeal, Fresno, CA.; sisters Henrietta Pierce, Modesto, CA.; Beatrice Bryant, Berkeley, CA.; and Kathryn Lewis of Stockton, CA. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. His beloved niece, Vivien King of Stockton, CA. cared for him until his death.
