Marie Conwell McIntyre

Marie C. McIntyre, 86, passed away August 26, 1996 after suffering several
strokes and cancer. Marie was born November 30, 1909 in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania to Irishimmigrant parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Conwell who later
settled in the small mining town of Mullan, Idaho. She graduated from Mullan
Schools in 1928 and later attended Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing
where she graduated in 1931. She was married in Spokane, Washington to A.H.
McIntyre, a graduate from the University of Minnesota who later died in a storm
in Northern Puget Sound. They had one child, John E. McIntyre who now
survives his mother, Marie. She worked in Spokane and later moved back to
Mullan and worked in a Catholic Hospital in Wallace, Idaho until moving to New
York with John in 1942, where she was employed in a Lutheran Hospital as a
nursing Supervisor in the Emergency Room. They moved to Tacoma in 1946
where she became employed by St. Joseph Hospital in their Emergency Room.
She left St. Joseph's and worked for Dr. Kunz and later for Dr. W. Zimmerman
where she ended her nursing career. Marie is survived by son and daughter-in-
law, John and Janet McIntyre, her grandchildren, Ann and Marty Webster, Mary
and Kevin Byrne, John and Carole McIntyre and 7 great-grandchildren, niece,
Mary Ellen Steffensen and nephew, Kevin McKim. The Rosary will be recited
Monday, September 2, 1996, 7:00 PM, at Piper-Morley Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, September 3, 1996, 12:10 PM
at St. Leo's Catholic Church. Viewing will be at the Rosary and prior to Mass at
the church. Entombment Calvary Cloisters. Arrangements by Piper-Morley-
Mellinger Funeral Directors. 472-3353
