JAMES Donald "J.D." Martin
James D. "J.D." Martin, beloved husband and father passed away
March 31, 2001 in Spokane, Wash. at the age of 62.
J.D. was born in Uniontown, Pa. on April 9, 1938, the son of
James and Mary (Golcher) Martin. He was raised and schooled in
Uniontown, Pa. After high school he joined the U.S. Air Force
where he served for eight years. Upon his discharge he remained
in the Everett, Wash. area for the next 35 years. In 1999 he retired
from The Boeing Co. and moved to the Deep Lake area, north of
Colville.
J.D. was an avid outdoorsman with a great love for all of nature's
surroundings. He enjoyed hunting, fishing or simply taking in all of
nature's wonders. He was known to his family and friends as a
man of integrity, compassion and love and respect for people,
animals, places and things.
J.D. is survived by his wife, Karen Martin of Colville, Wash.; sons,
Steven James Martin and fiance, Kim Duncan of Lynnwood,
Wash. and Robbie Jay Martin of Arlington, Wash.; daughters,
Mary Martin of Everett, Wash., Kileen Martin, of Frederick, Md.,
and Kim Williams of Marysville, Wash.; grandchildren Minnie and
Clinton; mother, Mary Martin of Coolspring, Pa.; mother-in-law
Cele Lawlis of Marysville, Wash.; brothers Gary (Sharon) Martin of
Frederick, Md., Allen (Sharon) Martin of Keezleton, Va., and
Audie Martin of Clarksburg, Md.; sisters Connie (Ed) Kelly of
Hopwood, Pa., Darlene Martin of Hopwood, Pa., and Joanna
(Roger) Valentine of Lemond Furnace, Pa.; and numerous nieces
and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, James
Riley Martin in 1976; and brother, Ronald Dale Martin in 1985.
A memorial service will also be held by family and friends in the
Everett, Wash. area at a later date.
The Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 155 W. First,
Colville, WA 99114 are in charge of arrangements.
