| A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008, in Willamette National Cemetery for Harry C. "Pete" Manning, who died July 4 at age 88. |
| Harry C. Manning was born Sept. 28, 1919, in Crystal City, Mo. During World War II, he served in the Navy. He moved to Hubbard in 1961 and was a custodian for the North Marion School District before moving to Happy Valley in about 2000. In 1946, he married Wanita Alvina Held; she died in 2007. |
| Survivors include his daughters, Rita McCain, Alanna Manning and Ava Van Velsor; sons, Aaron and Mark; sister, Gertrude French; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. |
