Sophia Frances Muir 

A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb.
23, 2008, in St. Agatha's Catholic Church in Portland
for Sophia Frances Muir, who died Feb. 14 of a stroke
at age 92. 
Sophia Frances Podbielan was born Nov. 23, 1915, in
Curlew, Wash., and moved to Sherwood in 1927 and to
Portland in 1937. She graduated from Tigard Union High
School and was a homemaker and a self-employed
housekeeper and nanny. She was a member of the church,
worked in its school library and was Cub Scout den
mother. In 1937, she married Ray Edwin Muir; he died
in 1966. 
Survivors include her daughter, Andrea; sons, Gary E.
and Mark D.; sisters, Emelia Sanders and Ethel Hays;
eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
