Lillian A. Mitchell (Cook)
Lillian was born on May 1st in Johnson Township, Missouri, to
Creighton and Doris Peterson, and died on July 3, 2000 at her home in
Edmonds surrounded by family and friends.
She graduated from Keosauqua High School in Iowa and later moved to
Washington State. On November 25, 1939, she married Robert C.
Mitchell of Seattle and they made their home in the Edmonds area.
She is survived by her two daughters, Joanne (Don) Knobbs and Kelly;
grandchildren, Debbie (Joe) Bailey, Scott (Norma) Seymour and Colin
Mitchell-Ireland; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Stephen Bailey;
sisters-in-law, Evelyn Peterson and Anna May Snyder; nieces and
nephews; and her families of choice in Everett and Edmonds.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Howard and Harold
Peterson; and sister, Clare Manary.
Lillian retired from a long career in sales at Osborne Jewelers of
Edmonds. In her retirement, she loved volunteering at the Carol Rowe
Memorial Food Bank. She was a 10 year member of the Edmonds Floretum
Garden Club, active on several committees. Her greatest enjoyment
came from making arts and crafts, and growing vetetables and flowers
to share with her many friends. She was a special lady and will be
dearly missed.
A Celebration of her life will be held on July 30, 2000 at 2:00pm in
the Edmonds Floral Conference Centre Orchid Room, 201 Fourth Avenue
North.
