U.S. Air Force born April 12, 1952, St. Louis, MO,
passed away May 22, 2007. Rob#s life was about public
service, beginning with his distinguished military
career as a graduate of the USAFA. Rob was an Air
Commando pilot, #The Quiet Professionals# rarely
talked about their work, often flew at night, spending
months overseas, completing clandestine missions for
our country. LTC Lutz spent time in the field, serving
as a liaison with U.S. Army Special Forces in Bad
Tolz, Germany. He was a qualified freefall paratrooper
and accomplished international mountaineer. He was a
dedicated officer, serving at Headquarters Staff at
Scott AFB, IL, and finally as Maintenance Squadron
Commander at McChord AFB. Rob retired in 1994. After

Tacoma Mountain Rescue. Utilizing his military skills,

of Western Washington. He was also a member of the
Puget Sound#s Urban Search and Rescue Task Force,
responding to national disasters. LTC Lutz#s last wish
was to enjoy his passions once more. Though he was

pass from UW Med. Center. Rob is survived by his
loving wife Ida of 25 years. He will be missed by all,
but not the memories he bestowed on us. Committal
