| Dorothy Joy Dent was born Oct. 8, 1926, in Clarkdale, Ariz., and moved to Lebanon as a child. She moved to Portland in 1955, and was a cab driver for Broadway Cab, a school bus driver for Portland Public Schools and most recently a caregiver in the Bahamas. In 1946, she married Don Shelton; they divorced. She married Dick Luty in 2000; he died in 2002. |
| Survivors include her daughters, Arden Shelton and Deborah Shelton Genualdi; stepdaughters, Karen Dixon, Susan Crum, Carolyn Sheridan and Barbara Cain; stepsons, Rick Luty, Paul Luty, Chris Luty and Jeff Luty; sisters, Ruth Jessup and Rhoda Jones; brother, Joe Dent; former husband, Don Shelton; three grandchildren; 28 stepgrandchildren; and stepgreat-grandchildren. |
