Ralph Edwin KEAN

Age 90, passed away March 1, 2005. Born April 2, 1914, in Carterville, MO. Mr. Kean
lived and farmed in the Yakima, WA area over 20 years, after relocating from Missouri.
He later resided in Centralia and Tacoma, WA before locating in 1962 to Kent. Ralph
proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific. Following the
war, he worked for Caterpillar Co. out of Yakima and NC Machinery in Tukwila and
Seattle. Later on in life he enjoyed a career as a carpenter and house painter. Ralph
had a deep love of music and was a member of various church choirs and more
recently Kent Senior Songsters. He was a longtime member of Panther Lake
Community Church, where he leaves many friends. He was fond of traveling and was
an avid RV enthusiast, and visited many foreign countries and most of the US. His big
laugh, ready smile and love of story-telling will be forever missed. Ralph was preceded
in death by his wife of 55 years, Olatha M. Kean; and sister, H elen Patrick of
Newtonia, MO. He is survived by daughter Janice McKee (Lynn) of Kent, WA; sons
Wayne (Debbie), also of Kent, WA, and David (Beverly) of Covington, WA; 8
grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Also survived by brothers Winston (Loraine)
and Robert (Phyllis) both of Yakima, WA; brother Don (Wanda) of Carthage, MO; sister
Frances Dornhecker (Robert) of Dallas, OR and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and
other family members. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 12,
at Panther Lake Community Church - 10630 SE 204TH ST Kent, WA. Remembrances
may be made to Panther Lake Community Church Building Fund.
