Walter Elliot KLOSTERMAN

82, of Normandy Park passed away in peace on October 16, 2002.
He was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Walter and Minette Klosterman,
the eldest of three sons. Most of his early years were spent in St. Louis.
He later moved to Minneapolis where he met for the first time his future
wife, Marilyn Meyer, at Washburn High School. Elliot attended the
University of Washington and graduated with a degree in Aeronautics.
His talent for photography enabled him to pay his way through school.
He also worked summers in Glacier National Park where he again met
Marilyn. This meeting convinced them that they were meant to be. They
were married in his parent's Seattle home in 1941. Together, they had
four children. Elliot also began his long career at the Boeing Company
in 1941. During his Boeing career, he took 7 years off to use his talent
in photography by having his own studio in Mt. Vernon Washington. He
then returned to Boeing in 1956 and retired in 1982. Elliot and Marilyn
enjoyed many fishing and hiking trips, especially in Glacier Park where
they met. They were also members of Rainier Golf and Country Club
beginning in 1958. Their enjoyment of outdoor activities was shared
with their children who continue to enjoy the outdoors. A job transfer
enabled the family to spend most of two years living in Germany where
they explored much of Europe. They were married 35 years before
Marilyn passed away in 1977. A new chapter in his life began when he
met and married Mary Lou Watkins in 1981. Most of their 21+ years
together were during Elliot's retirement. This allowed them ample time
to pursue their mutual interests of grandparenting, fishing, hunting,
theater, and exploring the Western US, Argentina, New Zealand and
Europe which he documented well with his photography. Many
wonderful works of Elliot's photography hang in the homes of his family.
Elliot will be greatly missed by his family, his hunting friends, as well as
his golfing and gin rummy buddies. He was proud to be a 60-year
member of the Washington Fly Fishing Club (WFFC). He loved being
'Opa' to his grandchildren. He leaves behind his wife MaryLou, his
children, Lee and Judy of Boise, Keith and Caren of Woodinville, Jim
and Janet of Seattle and Marcia and Ernie DaBreo of Dixon, CA.,
MaryLou's children Debbie and Gary Peterson of Federal Way, and
Brian and Linda Watkins of Tacoma, 13 grandchildren and his two
brothers, Ed of Glendale, CA., and Bob of Salem, OR., and sister Sally
of Mission Viejo, CA. A Memorial Service will be held at Boulevard
Park Presbyterian Church, 1822 S. 128th, Seattle, Saturday, Nov. 2nd
at 1 p.m. Remembrances can be made to: WFFC Foundation c/o Hugh
