| A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Portland for Ray R. Kriner, who died Jan. 11 at age 91. |
| Mr. Kriner was born June 15, 1913, in Greencastle, Pa. He graduated from Shippensburg University and received a master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a doctorate from Cornell University. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps. He was a professor of entomology at Rutgers University and Cornell University and was plant pathologist for Dow Chemical for 20 years. He moved to Portland in 1992 and to Beaverton in 1994. In 1992, he married Evelyn Anderson. |
| Survivors include his wife; daughter, Kathleen Millay; son, Kristopher; sister, Ruth Evans; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. |
