Dorothy Marie KOREEN

Beloved Mother, age 79, passed away on August 3, 2001, in Seattle
after complications from quadruple by-pass heart surgery in June. She
was in the company of her daughter, Karen, son-in-law Loran
Harrington, and dear neighbor and friend, Mary Rick. My Mother was
born Butler, PA. on September 17, 1921. She lived all over the
country, but always-called Seattle "home." She had a great sense of
humor. Mom loved watching sports and cheering for the Mariners. She
loved to read and listen to music. She played cards with her caregivers
and enjoyed winning most of the time. She enjoyed going to
Southcenter and getting her hair done at JCP with Connie. Thank you
Mom for letting me take care of you for the last 25 years. We had a
wonderful time and I would not change anything. Thank you for your
love and support through the years and for being there for me always. I
am a better person because of you. Loran and I love you and will miss
you so much. You will always be with us in our hearts. God Bless you
Mom and I look forward to the day I see you again in heaven. I leave
you with a prayer you gave me a long time ago Mom. I said a prayer
for you today, and knew God must have heard I felt the answer in my
heart, although He spoke no words. I didn't ask for wealth or fame I
knew you wouldn't mind. I asked Him to send treasures of a far more
lasting kind. I asked that He'd be near you in all things great and small
but it was for His loving care I prayed for most of all. I love you Mom!
Thank you Loran for the love and care you provided my Mother for the
last 10 years. I love you and so did Mom. Thank you to the
administration, staff, and students of Rainier Beach High School, past
and present, where I work for all their caring support throughout my
Mother's illnesses. Thanks to Dr. Jeffrey Meehan, The Polyclinic, Dr.
David Joseph, Riverton Medical Center, and other doctors who took
care of my Mother through the years. Thank you to Dr. Robert Clark,
nurses, and other staff members who cared for my Mother in the last
few weeks at Regional Hospital. Thank you to Leala Ledbetter,
Catholic Community Services, and all of my Mother's caregivers who
helped my Mom each day. A very special thank you to Sue Christman,
R.N., Human Services, Pierce County, for caring so much about my
Mom's well-being and us. Private services were held.
