Emily Beatrice Kirk
A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, in St. James Catholic Church in Molalla for Emily Beatrice Kirk, who died Aug. 2 at age 89.
Mrs. Kirk was born Emily Beatrice Beard on June 21, 1912, in Coffman, Mo., and moved to Haines as a child. She was a civil service clerk in Corvallis, Newberg, Washington, D.C., and Portland before moving in 1952 to Molalla, where she was a bookkeeper and tax preparer for accounting firms until retiring in 1988. She then was a self-employed bookkeeper and tax preparer until 2000. She volunteered at the Molalla Senior Center and was a volunteer tax preparer for AARP. She was a 50-year member of the church. In 1952, she married Harry Lee Kirk; he died in 1976.
Survivors include her son, Raymond; brother, Monsignor Raymond H. Beard; sisters, Martha Anderson and Theresa Grismer; and four grandchildren.
Interment in Willamette National Cemetery. Remembrances to the church. Arrangements by Molalla Funeral Chapel.
