Hazel Harris KONDOR
Passed away April 3, 2001, in Kirkland, WA. after a brief illness.
Hazel was born in Pennsylvania on November 4, 1935 to Jean and
Keith Harris. After her parents' marriage dissolved, Hazel traveled
across the country to La Grande, OR., where she was raised by her
sister Mary Ruckman. She graduated from the University of Oregon in
1958 with a degree in Chemistry. In 1960 she married Albert Kondor,
with whom she had two children, Ruth and Elizabeth. As a single
mother, Hazel raised her children in San Francisco, where she worked
for Fireman's Fund for over 30 years as a computer programmer. She
retired in 1994 and relocated to Kirkland, WA to be closer to her
family. Hazel loved reading, traveling, and sewing, and enjoyed
participating in many activities at the Kirkland Senior Center. She is
survived by her daughters, Ruth Kinchen (Curtis) of Bellevue, WA.,
and Elizabeth Sundet (Wade) of Kent, WA., and grandchildren
Rebecca and Melanie Kinchen and Christopher Sundet as well as
numerous other family members and friends. A Memorial Service will
be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 6 at the Kirkland Senior Center, 406
Kirkland Ave., Kirkland, WA. 98033. Donations may be made to the
American Cancer Society or PAWS.
