Noreen Gretchel Johnson 

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 16, 2005,
in Hustad Funeral Home for Noreen Gretchel Johnson,
who died Sept. 10 at age 88. 

Noreen Gretchel Paben was born March 26, 1917, in
Nebraska City, Neb. She moved to Portland in 1940 and
was a dietitian for St. Vincent and Bess Kaiser
hospitals. 

Survivors include her sons, Michael Walling and
Douglas Walling; daughters, Mary Ellen Marcus, Shirley
Wilkerson and Janice Granvald; brother, Glenn Paben;
sisters, Delores Hinze and Diana Carter; 25
grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Her
daughter Sharon Mary died in 1997.
