Margaret M. JONES 98, of Seattle, died November 17, 2002. Born May 24, 1904 in Medcalf, PA. Margaret was a part of the original Seattle Italian Community. Her parents were Italian immigrants, passing through Ellis Island. The family worked their way across the country in the coalmines arriving in Roslyn, WA. There she eventually met and married William Jones who preceded her in death in 1971. She spent the rest of her life in the Seattle Italian Community area where her two sons were born and raised. A highlight of her life, at age 85, was traveling to Italy to visit surviving members of her original family. Beloved mother of Ronald Jones of La Conner, WA and William Jones of Ellensburg, WA. Also six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Preceded in death by her brother Frank Merlet. Funeral Service 11 a.m. Friday, November 22, 2002, at Columbia Funeral Home, Seattle. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Renton.
