| A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, in Union Point Cemetery in Banks for Martha E. Jacobs, who died Nov. 9 at age 88. Mrs. Jacobs was born Sept. 14, 1912, in Elsberry, Mo. Her maiden name was Stewart. She was raised in Hamburg, Ill., and owned and operated a fruit orchard there with her husband. In 1952, she moved to Banks. She was a homemaker who did seasonal work at a fruit-processing cannery in Banks and also did laundry work out of her home. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Forest Grove. In 1929, she married Howard G. Jacobs; he died in 1971. |
| Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Weaver; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Her son Howard T. Jacobs died in 1954; her son Kenneth Jacobs died in 1985; and her daughter Janet Copley died in 1997. |
| The family suggests remembrances to the Tri-City Rural Fire Department in Banks. Arrangements are by Fuiten, Rose & Hoyt Funeral Home. |
