| A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, in the downtown chapel of the First Baptist Church for Nyra Abbott Johnson, who died Sept. 21 of lung cancer at age 85. |
| Mrs. Johnson was born Dec. 16, 1914, in Petaluma, Calif. Her maiden name was Fredricks. She lived in Billings, Mont., before moving in 1960 to Portland, where she was a manuscript editor and typist for the U.S. Geological Survey until retiring in 1980. She was a member of the church. In 1939, she married Elliott Johnson; he died in 1999. |
| Survivors include her daughters, Kathryn Lang, Susan DeWitt and Nancy Goodman; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. |
| Private interment will be in Pleasantview Cemetery, Ballantine, Mont. The family suggests remembrances to her church. Arrangements are by Omega Funeral & Cremation Service. |
