| Don Hendricks, 80, in Seattle on March 25, 2004. He was born in Missouri on Dec. 25, 1923 to Harold Monroe and Edna Hendricks and was raised in Ottumwa, Iowa. He served in the U.S Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He married Dorris Borg in Concord, Calif on Dec. 20, 1945. She survives him in McCleary. The couple had lived in Tacoma 1947-1962, Iowa, 1962-1970 and settled in Elma in 1970. He had worked for North American Van Lines for 15 years. He then went to work at the Simpson Door plant in McCleary retiring in 1988. Being a wildlife lover, he and Dorris enjoyed going for car rides to watch for animals and birds. Mr. Hendricks is survived by his sons, Tom of Des Moines, Iowa and Mark of Cle Elum, Wash; a daughter, Karin Wilbur of Pennsylvania; a sister, Robert Ray of Dallas, Texas; 10 grandchildren & 17 great grandchildren. A son, Darrel; brother Darrel, his father, Harold, mother, Edna and step-father, Clyde Mann, all died previously. Visitation 10-11 a.m.; Funeral Service 11 a.m. on Tues. March 30 at Whiteside Family Mortuary in Elma. The graveside service will follow at the McCleary Cemetery and a reception will be held at the McCleary Community Center. |
