Joseph E. Heath
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2001, in Pegg, Paxson & Springer Chapel for Joseph E. Heath, who died April 16 at age 81. Mr. Heath was born Aug. 20, 1919, in Bristol, Pa. He served in the U.S. Navy for 10 years, including service during World War II in the Pacific. He later moved to Portland and worked in the roofing business for 40 years, retiring as roofing superintendent for Bird & Son Roofing Manufacturing Co. in 1982. In 1940, he married Norma Ouderkirk.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Joseph R., Daniel E. and Thomas C.; daughters, Sherrie E. Barss and Melinda S. Hamilton; sister, Mabel Gottsabend; brother, Edward W. III; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great- grandchildren.
Interment in Willamette National Cemetery. Remembrances to the Oregon Humane Society.
